Community Health Services Programs

Health & Wellness

The Health and Wellness Education Team has provided education and training to at-risk youth and family populations for over 20 years. Our professional and experienced educators have a passion for delivering curriculums to students to enhance their development and knowledge in healthy behaviors and relationships.

Beacon Health & Fitness
Summer Program

The summer program is designed to match all ages and abilities in an organized format. This program provides activities that challenge kids to be physically active. Our Health and Wellness educators connect with students as well as provide a nutritional snack and recipe for students to try at home. Students are also encouraged to develop skills to empower one another whether they win or lose a game.

Human Growth & Development

This is an engaging program designed to educate students in grades 3rd, 4th, and 5th on puberty and the importance of hygiene. The curriculum also provides information on exercise and nutrition and discusses personal space and how to respect peer differences.

CATCH My Breath Program

Layperson Naloxone Administration Testing (NARCAN)

(NARCAN) course expands on the Opioid Public Health Crisis course and will teach adults how to recognize the signs of an opioid overdose and administer the opioid overdose reversal drug Naloxone.

QPR Training

QPR is offered to high school students, and stands for Question, Persuade, Refer – the three simple steps anyone can learn to help save a life from suicide. Just as the people trained in CPR help save thousands of lives each year, students trained in QPR learn how to recognize the warning signs of a suicide crisis and how to refer someone for help. Teenagers are also taught the importance of getting adults involved when there is a suicide crisis.

This is Not about Drugs Program

In this course we will learn about the disease of addiction by looking at how the brain is affected by substances such as drugs and alcohol and how the disease of addiction develops.
