The purpose of the SJC FIMR Program is to better understand the causes of infant loss and stillbirth in St. Joseph County. Each case is reviewed by a multidisciplinary team of local health professionals and community members who examine how social, economic, health, environmental, and safety-related factors may have contributed to the loss.
The team identifies patterns, recommends changes in policy or practice, and helps guide local efforts to improve maternal and infant health for all families. These recommendations lead to the development of reports, initiatives, community resources, and educational materials for families—each designed to address the underlying factors contributing to fetal and infant loss.
Below you will find reports and resources created by the SJC FIMR Team to support professional and community action to improve maternal and infant health and reduce infant mortality and stillbirth in St. Joseph County.
